My favorite shop is Pine Tree Quilt Shop in Salem NH. They buy beautiful fabric to sell. They have a great place for sewing in. A huge room for classes etc. And after I post I'll see if I have any stars near my name. Jan

I have to add another couple of shops to my favorites list-

the Quilted Bear Den
4068 Albany Post Road(Rt 9)
Hyde Park, NY
http://www.quiltedbearden.com/

John owns the shop and he's great when you need just that special something for your quilt. A lot of the other shops in the area carry very muted colors. This shop's fabric is so bright and happy and just OH MY!!!

Sew and Vac
Poughkeepsie Plaza(Rt 9)
Poughkeepsie, NY
and
181 South Plank Rd
Newburgh, NY
http://www.sewandvacny.com/home/

These folks will help people above and beyond.

I've got one more:

Pieceful Choices
99 State Hwy 94
Vernon, NJ
http://www.piecefulchoices.com/

I just love Maureen. She is a quilter through and through. Her husband, Jon, can fix any brand of sewing machine.

We are quilt shop poor in NE AR. :( They are now my Bernina dealer also. I love the shop and their choice of fabrics. Great shop and staff!

Bonny, I don't know how far you are from Mountain Home, but we have some great quilt shops here! We have Sew Unique, and Thus and Sew that are my favorites. Sew Unique has LOTS of classes during the week and on weekends, and both have loads of fabric! Email me if you would like directions. :D

I'll pipe in here and rave about my favorite LQS... Viking Sewing Center in Ann Arbor, MI! I've just recently started going more often - before I would pick up fabric when I was traveling or from the vendors on guild meeting day. Since I'm not traveling as much, I've had the opportunity to head into the LQS around here. I also like the Quilting Season in Saline, but it doesn't have as large of a selection. Viking has a great selection, interesting classes, lots of pieces on the walls - that change quite often, and the people there are quite friendly. They are also bringing Alex to town!!! I won't be in town for it, but its quite the exciting event!!!!

There are a few other LQS nearby, but I haven't made it to those yet. I start traveling again next week, so we'll see when I can make it around town.

Well, I'm new at this but have visited all of the quilt shops close to me (not very many :( ). My favorite so far has been Pinwheel Fabrics in Alexander AR. They have been very patient and helpfull, answering all of my questions (and boy do I have questions).

I have a favorite shop in Fresno, CA. "Cottage Quilts". I bacame acquainted with them when only an online store but they have a beautiful shop and expanded space and now have lots of classes. Beautiful fabrics, samples on display, kits, etc. Carolyn and her staff are exceptional.

Her website is http://www.cottage-quilts.com. The store is located on W. Bullard Ave. in Fresno. I am a former California girl and now live in NE AR. Sure miss all my wonderful California shops.

6 quilt shops within 30 miles....... I'm turning grass gree with envy.

I'm in the North-East of England and the nearest decent quilt shop is over 90 miles away. But that one is a cracker. So, if anybody visits the UK, plan in a visit at 'The Bramble Patch' in Northamptonshire. Great selection of fabrics, and other bits and pieces, wonderful workshops with superb teachers, and outstanding and friendly customer service. It's woth the 90 miles drive. :)

I go to Rosie's also! I love it there..I've tried Beverly's, but they don't have NEARLY the selection Rosie has & her prices are MUCH better.
She's getting ready to sell fabric on line soon too!

Quilter's Attic
118 Maple Ave(Rt 302)

Kathy, Sandy and all the ladies are great! There's classes, contests, BOMs, you name it. And the fabric is to die for!!
As much as I like other shops in the area, I feel welcomed and comfortable when I go to QA.
