Small houses 1 and 2 and Mariners compass done. I am very happy with the outcome. Now I have a month to try to adapt the technique to other freezer paper patterns

I use the 1/8 inch paper piecing ruler for the inner seams in the pieces and leave the outer seams of the pieces at 1/4 inch. The houses are about 6 3/4 inches and the compass diameter is 9 inches (unfinished) sizes. Helen put up good drawings in her posts of how to do it.

I've been printing the pattern at 60% and following the suggestions made by Helen in the forum last month. You need to resign the 1/4 inch seam allowances after you print but otherwise it seems to be working fine.

Thanks, Lynanne! I may try the compass at 60% and see how it goes.

This is the size given. I don't know for sure, but what if you printed the freezer paper patterns at 50% or even 25% ? It looks like if all the patterns were printed at the same reduced size, it would work out. I have NOT done this and do NOT know if it would work. I am just thinking out loud.

Well your quilt so far is beautiful! Thank you.
Thanks. Did you read Lynnanne’s post? She said to re draw the seam allowance to 1/4” if you reduce the pattern, That makes sense to me.

Here are my first blocks. I apparently like polka dots...I really didn't realize that until I looked at what I pulled from my stash!

PamMcd, are you making a smaller version? If so, can you share how you are doing that? I really want to make this but don’t want it as large as the pattern is. Want to hang it and don’t have a place to hang that large a quilt.
