Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month journey into the land of childhood memory with a charming quilt designed especially for TQS by internationally-known Australian designer Lynette Anderson. Lynette combines simple, unpretentious folk art style appliqué motifs with patchwork blocks for a quilt that will be lots of fun to make. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns. We will once again be offering monthly companion teaching videos as well. It all makes for a year of fun and learning!

Thanks everybody ! I'm anxious to get some stitchin' done on it...will make it look a little better.
It was the other way round, Andree...I liked the brush-y look and now I hope I have enough of it,
A batik I've had a while (backround for my Spool blocks) and no hope of finding more...will prob'ly
have to punt in the end. ! :P

Marilyn, your block is beautiful! I also like how your 9-patches have the next border fabric, and the different appliqués.

Lovely!

Posting January block here...and in group album. Next border on...now to decide what to add ! :)
This half size take some patience....and Big Bernie really doesn't like to micro-stitch ! Going to add
hand embroidery next. And I need to blanket stitch on "A to Z" . Never out of work ! :) :) :)

Make it rose bushes and you could have Sleeping Beauty's chateau ;)

At this size, a "bramble" looks like a tree!
(I hope I got the translation right)

I was going to use 3/4 inch bias and 1/4" seam then when trimmed & pressed by Lynette's method ends up 1/8".

Are you sewing directly. Sorry reread and understand. I'll try your way :)

Andree you'll have to find posh vines for your chateau no brambles for you.

I will stitch on the vine line - 1/3 of the width, and fold over and stitch. In the half-size, I will use bias 3/8" wide, which will give me an 1/8" vine.

Lots of appliqué. Now what vines are you all going to come up with ?
