Geneva, not sure what your particular problem is - that said I have
no experience with Berninas at all. If it was on of the industrial machines at work I would know, and that is because they have two sets of tension plates, the usual one that domestic machines have, and a second smaller one, which is actually earlier on in the thread sequence, that affects how much thread is released when the automatic cutter is used - and if the needle is unthreading then the tension is too tight.
