Thanks, Nancy. While I am piecing the stars on my BOM, I laid this quilt out to inspire me on ideas for quilting it. A LQS in New Braunfels, TX would do $5 quilt clubs. You pay $5 for the first month's block and then if you finish it and bring it back to the next month's session you get the next block free and so on. In this case I think I had to buy the book of patterns also. I think it is "More Bible Blocks." Then of course I had to buy all the fabric for the alternate blocks and borders ... and 3 more blocks so I could make it a double size. I think I finished the top in 2007. Just before moving here I had a friend layer it for me on her long arm. Now all I have to do it quilt it.

Any ideas? I don't want to do an all over pattern.

This was my January finish for the UFO challenge. I really only had the binding left on it to finish.

And here is the back of it.

Now I am working on the last 40 or so stars in the outer border of the Stars for a New Day BOM.

Rosemary, I love your little quilt. You are right about the housework. It is not important. Babies and quilting are! And, the babies do grow up eventually, so we have more time to quilt. ;) ;) ;)

I was just looking at Rosemary's miniature once more and had an idea re posting picts of the small stuff. My daughter is a geologist and when they take picts of rock specimens they often lay a pen in the pict for size reference. With rocks you really can't tell if you are looking at a small stone or a boulder. I think quilters of miniatures should lay a thimble in the picture for reference. Just an idea. It would give a lot of info without any text. A picture is worth a thousand words….

She might say something even more mean-spirited. Some people are "spirit downers" and it is healthiest to try not to spend time with them. I wish you didn't have to work with her, Rosemary.

Renata, Nah, I very much doubt it. I CBA with her at the best of times. She might be pleasant to your face, but bitches about people behind their backs something rotten. Don't know what she says about me and don't want to know, but I've watched how she treats others. Not worth losing sleep over that is for sure.

Terrie - you won't get any refusals from me!

Thanks for all the nice comments. I took it into work to show the ladies there. The one lady I don't really get on with suggested that I should have been doing housework instead of making it  :S I knew there must be a good reason that we didn't get on :P

Rosemary, it just hit me... maybe you could make her a mug rug. Do you think it my soften up her rough edges?

I love your quilt, Rosemary! And I love your analysis re: the questionable quality of time spent doing housework vs. the productiveness of time quilting. And, lastly, I really love how all of your TQS sisters rushed to your defense against that who-asked-her-anyway-"lady"! I'm sure you don't require our support or encouragement to know how good you are, but isn't it nice to hear the opinions of people who know what they're talking about?
