From Every Corner by TQS member highplainsquilter
Last fall, shortly after we featured Edyta Sitar (Episode 802), who would ever have imagined that little bits of fabric would travel around the globe to become a part of so many stunning quilts. Spurred on by Edyta and her love of scrap quilts and her suggestion to share half square triangles with friends, the Sisterhood of The Traveling Triangles was created by the TQS members themselves. Once the rules were set there were 560 participants that exchanged 224,359 half-square triangles from all across the globe. A number of members felt that this monumentous venture needed to be recorded for posterity.
And so...the HSST book project began. TQS member CMOELLERS is working on creating a book and DVD to document the process. Anyone who wanted to share their own HST Exchange project was and is still welcome to be included. The final deadline for entry is not until January 1, 2012. To give us a sneak peek, CMOELLERS has created a slide show of submissions she has received so far. So, if you still have your HSSTs it's not too late to get your submission included in this one of a kind rememberance.

The holidays have begun and what are you going to do with those out of town visitors? Such is the question posed by many. TQS has found a few events that will help you entertain the young and old while at the same time keep your sanity.
These quilts are amazing. We wanted to get you up close, so there will be another slideshow tomorrow with the rest of the quilts.
Never misplace your camera.
Have you heard of FabMo? They gather beautiful designer fabrics and discontinued samples and then make them available to creative people who support, shools, non-profits, churches and individual initiatives. It is a non-profit and completely volunteer effort.
There is no direct cost to you, though donations to offset their costs are very much appreciated The fabrics cannot be sold as is, but can be incorporated into a project which can then be sold in support of churches, schools, non-profits, or the exercise of individual initiative.
Fabris run the full range from woolens, cottons, silks, linens, synthetics and many blends of these. Even sheers to upholstery weight and all in between. They also frequently have wallpapers, sample books, hardware, tassels, and more.

If you watched Episode 909: Techniques, Tips...and Turning "Trash" into "Treasure" with Gyleen Fitzgerald you would have been introduced to the lovely Onaledge B&B in Manitou Springs, Colorado by Brett Maddox, the Executive Director of the Red Crags Estate.
The estate is believed to have a few ghostly inhabitants and today they are inviting you to view their "enchanted home," built in 1912 by architect, builder, and coppersmith Roland Boutwell. The home is an example of the Arts & Crafts movement popular at the time.
