Utilizing what we see in life everyday for our quilting inspiration is something every quilter can relate to. For Margaret Abramshe that is no different. The inspiration for her Duck was just a photo she took as she "strolled along the San Antonio Riverwalk." Created with machine quiltinghand piecingpainting, and digital printing, this Duck is certainly a quilt to give a quack about.

Duck by Margaret Abramshe of St. George, Utah was featured in the Animal Kingdom category at Houston 2019.

In Deborah Langsam's Out of the Mouths of Babes, half-inch square images of notable women come together in this celebration of women’s wit and wisdom. From a distance, the viewer sees a set of purple or red lips. Up close, women’s faces emerge…from Abigail Adams to Annie Oakley, from Hillary Clinton to Judge Judy.

Marisela Rumberg created a quilt of Frida Kahlo that was featured in the HERstory: A Celebration of Strong Women exhibit. Depicting "the first 20th century Mexican artist whose work was purchased by the Louvre", Marisela's work is free-motion quilted and painted. We think Frida would approve.

Frida Kahlo by Marisela Rumberg of Annandale, Virginia was featured in the HERstory: A Celebration of Strong Women exhibit category at Houston 2017.

Which kind of quilter are you? Vote below.

Previously, we asked how you store your stash, what's on your design wall, how you quilt your quilts, how you baste your quilts, how you hang your quilts, and where you get your quilting ideas.

This week we want to know how you feel about your scissors. Are you, "I only use them to cut fabric; use them and die?" OR, "They're only scissors, who cares what you cut with them?"

If Carol Morrissey featured one grandchild in one of her quilts, you knew she was going to feature the others. In Kora, Carol presents another magnificent quilt in her Exaggerated Pointillism style, this time featuring her granddaughter. While Pointillism in the art world features dots of the same size and pure color, in Carol's style she utilizes different sized circles and whatever colors blend best to bring out the work's image.

Learn from Carol by watching Show 2710.
