Not all quilts are serious. We came across this one at Road to California and it just made us laugh. Enjoy "Mummy without Coffee: Take 2" by Mathea Daunheimer of Oamaru, New Zealand.

Classes Open to Everyone

Ruler Work on Domestic Machines

Now you can watch Gina Perkes' Ruler Mastery Series in its entirety. We have all ten classes available, and they are open to everyone!

Gina's series shows you the basics of using machine quilting rulers, as well as how to make specific designs like feathers, waves, and geometric shapes using her line of high quality quilting rulers on your domestic or longarm machine.

"Like Getting Two Free Rulers"

Get started machine quilting right away with Gina's Ruler Mastery Kit, which includes all of the rulers covered in her series. The kit is priced at $199, which is like getting two of the rulers for free!

Not ready to buy the whole kit? If you want to try just one, we recommend the first ruler in the Ruler Mastery Class series, the Shirley Ruler. At just $24.00, it is a great way to test the machine quilting waters!

The following is the account of the fire from the perspective of Ricky and Justin primarily via the text messages and photos that were exchanged. It is an abridged version but includes the most critical messages relating to the fire over several days. As of this posting, the fire has burned 107,967 acres and is 85% contained. There have been over 150 homes/structures destroyed and 100+ damaged.

Click here to follow the log.

Here is the mostly-unedited video of Ricky's first drive into the Yellowstone Creek Ranch fire zone going to Autumn Rock. As an FYI, the first two pieces of music Ricky composed and recorded in his new recording studio just two weeks before the fire. This video is 54 minutes. It is somewhat haunting, hypnotic, and mesmerizing.

Finally, here are images Ricky took in the fire zone, and other before/after images.

This blog was originally posted by a TQS Member in 2010. Mark has come a long way since then.

Star Members can watch Mark and Ricky in Show 2301: Luminous Stained Glass Quilts.

This beautiful quilt was one of the first I saw when entering the show. It was made by Mark Sherman, TQS member "wood4mark." Wings and Feathers won 1st place in the category "Bed Quilts, Quilted On Longarm/Midarm Machine".

Mark hand-dyed about 90% of the fabric in this quilt, and quilted it with a longarm machine. Dana says, "This is one of my personal favorites because of all the wonderful color and great quilting detail."

How cute are these?

We just got these in the store and we are going crazy for them!

First we have the Quilter's Date Keeper - a perpetual calendar for you to keep track of all of the birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions (quilt shows!) in your life. Because it doesn't have years, you can start and finish it at any time, or use it forever.

It is full of fun quilty things - gorgeous quilt photos, inspirational quotes, and tips & tricks for quilters, and a project planning section in the back.

AND we have matching pencils! These are great for sharing with friends, and they also have quilty sayings on them.

Get them while they last!

The wildfire called the Spring Fire devastated the forest in and around the town of La Veta, Colorado. Ricky shares his experience in a chat with Alex with still images and video footage taken during the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensued over several days.

Ricky writes,

"This video is dedicated to Justin Shults who was the real hero protecting the priceless quilts and art, our company computers and files, and making sure the dogs were safe. He had to bear the work alone and he deserves a medal for determination and not giving into pressure. He texted, "I got this! This is what I do."

Ricky also wants to thank everyone who sent their love and support throughout this difficult situation.

On Monday, we will be sharing a timeline of the Spring Fire 2018 as told through Ricky and Justin's Text Messages and Photos. We will also be sharing a video that Ricky created of his first drive into the Yellowstone Creek Ranch fire zone going to Autumn Rock. It includes music he just recently composed and recorded in his new studio.

Pamela writes about her quilt,

Ta Da! My version of the Halo Medallion Quilt designed by the late Sue Garman and quilted by Lois Squyres Kindley. I cried when I saw it!!! It’s not quite finished, needs the binding and to be blocked. The beauty of the quilting enhanced my piecing perfectly. Thank you so much Lois for your creative quilting artistry. To Barbara Black and the Sunday Sew and Sews—I did it! Thanks for all of the encouragement and guidance (along with two other quilting friends I leaned on repeatedly). But Chuck Erickson is the real winner. Through thick and thin and several swear words plus two broken arms he supported me at every step. Thank you God for sending him my way and for keeping me on the path to do my best work ever!
ps. I am making another one for my other daughter-different fabric!

Tree of Life by Mark Sherman won Best of Show at the World Quilt Show Florida in 2010.

It measures 85″ by 106″ and is a turned edge appliqué interpretation of a Louis Comfort Tiffany window. Mark created the quilt as a tribute to his brother.
