Marika Andersson was challenged to create a quilt with six colorful fabrics. She wanted to make a fun quilt and choose to represent three very popular musical acts. Can you name all three?

Tell it in Tones was on display at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018 as part of the People, Portraits and Figures exhibit.

Alison at Cluck Cluck Sew has updated her Simple Hearts pattern just in time for Valentine's Day. It contains easy-to-make 6" blocks and finishes at 42" x 44". This would be a great way to use up those scraps and create a great gift for your sweetie.

Too close to Valentine's Day? You could make just one block and put it in a frame or put together four blocks to create a pillow top. The possibilities are endless.

Suzy says, "This quilt began its life in the reject pile...I wasn’t going to give up on this quilt, though... Mayan Mosaic and I were going to pull ourselves up from the reject pile and plough ahead. Come what may."

The Best Part of traveling for me...is the quilters along the way. I don't know about you, but I get homesick...not for my house, but for the people in my life which is made up mostly of stitchers. The number one way I take care of myself is to make sure I connect to quilters along the way. Not only do I create an emotional support system wherever I am, but I learn about things I had never heard of in the crafting world.

The Quilters Market
in Tucson provides a space for open sew every Tuesday morning. Stitchers around the area gather to do what we do best...share and stitch...or stitch and share. It is also a place for the homesick traveler to meet and be embraced. Virginia, who traveled to Tucson and is here for a short while, shared her knowledge of Locker Hook. I had never heard about it, but anything where you use your scrap stash is a good idea to me!

And since I have a dream...of someday making a Hexie Something, which is something made out of Hexies, LOL, I was inspired by Nancy's Hexie Blocks! They are beautiful and my dreams of Hexies may become a reality because my path crossed with Nancy, and what a perfect travel project!

After all, we are called Anna and G On The Road, and finding ways to connect and be inspired is one of the ways that I keep on rolling. Here is one last show 'n tell...I love how this quilter has adapted a Piece O' Cake Design, "Welcome to the North Pole," into her own piece of art!

See you next week with some gardening ideas, LOL.

Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies...where we are connecting one quilter and one shop at a time!!

We welcome BERNINA as our longarm partner this year. BERNINA takes special care in the quality and assembly of its machines. Take a look at this fun time-lapse video. (plus the guy is cute and Capt'n John is jealous of the hair.)

Megumi was inspired by the the blue flowers found in antique Dutch tiles. She mainly used deeper indigo blue cloth, said to be "Japan Blue," which is a traditional Japanese color. The handwork is stunning, as she employed everything from embroidery stitches and beading, to yo-yos and little pieces of appliqué. We can see why the little bird is singing "Be Happy..."

Be Happy was displayed as part of the Handmade exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.

Meredith and Theresa from Spoonflower sat down with TQS and talked about some of the strangest, and most beautiful, fabric designs they've encountered in their jobs. They also discuss the fabric design contest that Spoonflower has had weekly for the last ten years. Some of the themes are quite intriguing.
