Secret in the Garden is a dazzling wholecloth quilt from Kumiko Frydl which features achromatic colored threadwork using cotton, silk, and Sulky threads. We love the peony design that helps to create the mandala in the center of the quilt. The subtle detail near the binding adds additional intrigue. For a miniature quilt, there is a lot to study.

Secret in the Garden by Kumiko Frydl was on display as part of the Miniature Exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.

There is nothing better for the creative soul than a WiFi Break. G and I hit the road over the top of the mountain...to Belknap Hot Springs. No Wifi and barely any cell service, so we hunkered down and enjoyed the peace.

Really, all that one needs is some good food, good company and a stitching project! Bringing one of my favorite designers along is like icing on the cake.

With the rain outside, a bit of Buttermilk Basin Stitching brings comfort to the stitchy soul. Plus, it is getting me all excited about attending Woolstock, an event sponsored by Buttermilk Basin.

Although this post doesn't have lots of quilty talk, it is filled with things to dream about...sometimes taking a break from the world and just stitching is just what the doctor ordered!!

Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies.

Alex gets the chance to meet Aggy Burczyk the BERNINA Manager of the "Big Babies" (Longarm Division). Alex learns the difference between the Q20 and the Q24, where it is made, how tension is made easy, why there is such a small learning curve, and more. It's a fun video with lots of info.

Aki Sakai has done it again with her miniature quilt full of delicious little details like bunnies, eggs, baskets, and birds. You'll spend hours taking in all the little details. The little bunnies hanging of the edge of the quilt just make our heart sing.

Happy Easter by Aki Sakai was on display as part of the Miniature Exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.
