Whoops!  I missed number 7.  This is an Irish Nine-Patch from Alex's "Finish It" Book.  She has some really fun fabric in it.  I also like the scalloped edges with the quilted flowers.  The curvy edges have a pieced binding.

I am in Ann Arbor for a Bernina gig at Viking Sewing Center on Monday. But in the meantime, my favorite Pirates are gathering at Captain Jacks House  - and the timing couldn´t be better (please do not tell Bernina of my alternative lifestyle! Cool). Even though my GPS works wonders, it wasn´t hard to figure out which home was / is hosting the festivities!  My guess is that there won´t be many quilters attending - aaarrrrrrr

Hold on a second Ricky, is anyone expecting us?

This quilt is called Scrappy Triangles and is in the "Finish It" Book.  It is made up of 120  41/2" blocks plus and extra row of 1 1/2" squares and half-square trangle units that give it a rectangular shape.  She says it looks complicated but it is just 2 simple nine-patch variations.  I still haven´t started quilting yet, but all I can think when I see this quilt is AccuCut! (Probably because I´m not allowed to touch the good scissors or the sharp rotary cutters).

Kat Bowser (see The Daily Blog Archives, December 24th concert) has been in La Veta all week training for her new job. That´s right, Justin and I welcome Kat to the Tims Art Quilt Studio (TAQS) - not to be confused with the The Quilt Show TQS) fold. This means that many of you just might get the chance to see her because when we do the Ricky Tims Super Quilt Seminars - or when we trek off to Houston or Paducah, it is likely that she´ll be there working with us. That means I can have her sing a song or two during the concerts. Yee-haw!!!

Because the concert last December was such a success, we presented two shows to full houses last night here in La Veta. It was a Broadway/Cabaret specacular. Kat performed a few classics like New York, New York and Cabaret, as well as Broadway favorites such as Memory from Cats, Send in the Clowns from A Little Night Music, and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. Two shows and two standing Os.

We´re off to the airport this morning so she can head back to Nashville and begin working in her new "home office." Congratulations Kat, we´re looking forward to seeing you here on TQS too. Her new profile is KatBowser.

Alex, Ricky, Justin, John, Lilo, Ruth and Bob want to thank you for being such good friends. Keep spreading the word and be sure to thank our sponsors so we can take a Road Trip near your house next year.

We've listened to your suggestions and we are very excited about Series 3 which will be out starting July 7. You will receive a newsletter soon letting you know about our wonderful teachers coming in the second half of 2008. It's really the best way we know to thank you.

This was in the middle of the quilts in the armoire.  Do you have pillows that say things?  What do your pillows say?

I am currently in Carmel, Indiana on behalf of Bernina - Yesterday I was in Oklahoma City. I LOVE getting out and meeting YOU! When I was in Oklahoma Wendy brought an incredible dress for us to enjoy - her daughters wedding dress that she sewed in 10 days!!! The embroidery was incredible and truly inspiring. Thank you Wendy for bringing this treat to the event!
