Tyler's Quilt highlights a love of baseball, from the "diamonds" right down to the labels on the jersey. Wouldn't you love to make one for your fan of "America's Pastime?"

We have to admit, we'd never seen this method for threading a needle before, but some people tell us it's an "ancient" method. Have you seen this done?

How do you bury thread ends which are too short to thread through a needle eye, or when you just don’t want to take time to thread a needle? Here's a great tip from WeAllSew.com.

BERNINA Brand Ambassador Renae Allen of RGA Design LLC shares a technique she used in tailoring and garment sewing to send threads to the inside. It works great for quilt threads!

Elaine Wick Poplin wanted to create an optical illusion and with Vertigo. We think she succeeded. She created four concentric circles that seem to intertwine and actually don't, but your eye sees what it wants to see.

What do your eyes tell you?

Artist Note:
"Dared by a friend, I reconstructed the 2002 Pinna illusion and made a quilt of it. Foundation paper pieced, hand-appliqued, and free-motion quilted. Permission to show the quilt graciously granted by Biangio Pinna, the original designer of the illusion."

The sale has been extended through Monday, Feb, 12, 2018.

Alex had these double bobbin thread ring sets made up in 40 colors (135 yds each) to complement all types of fabric. All quilters will love these threads and those who love appliqué will love them even more. This introductory offer makes it easy to supply your workroom, or give as a wonderful gift, or both. However, there's a problem. We only have 50 units of the 2 rings at this introductory price ($39.99 regularly $50). We apologize ahead of time, but when they are gone the sale is through. Take a look at Alex's intro video and please move fast...

Wendy writes, "This design is ribbon appliqué in a split stitch intertwined with a string of candlewicking knots in heavy thread. I love the shades of the primary colors and how the shapes dance with each other. I tested my free motion quilting with straight stitches and realized they needed to show a bit more. So I used the grey thread in a few places and continued to use different free motion quilting techniques. - straight lines, pebbles, flames and curls."

Sandra Peterson's Quilt, Five Turns of the Wheel, has an astounding number of points and each one is perfect. Sandra also experiments with color as she has them "move" through the wheels of her quilt.

Five Turns of the Wheel won 1st Place: Innovative, Wall, Pieced at Road to California 2017 and was exhibited as part of the Innovative Pieced Exhibit at Houston 2016.

How fun would it be to make this jaunty beret by Erica Bunker at WeAllSew.com? Make it in red to support "Go Red for Women" or make it in pink for Valentine's Day. It's just the thing to perk up your day.
