Sometimes you just have the feeling to make a quilt, and Cindy Thompson had that feeling. For Birds of Paradise she says, "looking through my travel photos, I was drawn to make this this pair of birds, which were so colorful in their natural environment." Featured at Houston 2019 in the Animal Kingdom exhibit, Cindy used a variety of techniques "to convey a realistic impression of these beautiful and colorful birds." Among those techniques, machine quilting, fused appliqué, and painting were used to bring out the birds striking plumage.
