"Inspired by a photo taken of a green sea turtle in its natural habitat", Melanie Marr wanted to portray the tranquility experienced by this gentle creature. "The blue-green of the water makes this a very calming quilt, which is why I named it Serenity." Featured at Houston 2019, Melanie incorporated free-motion machine quilting, painting, and drawing to capture the calm and stillness felt as the turtle swims along.
