Barbara Black is stepping back in for Alex this Friday and she is going to have some great tips for starting out Color My World, The Quilt Show BOM for 2021.

Learn how to cut a 3.5” strip of each fabric for “building blocks” for Small Houses 1 and 2 of Color My World. Show 2801 has the construction in detail, but there is always more to say.

Plus, find out a super way to minimize waste of the background fabric when cutting the “sky” for the January and March houses.

Barbara will be LIVE on Friday January 1, 2021 @ 10am PST, 1pm EST, and 6pm London time.

In the future you will be able to watch Barbara LIVE on the 1st Thursday of each month.

Hi, did you save the green fabric only for the trees or did you use some in the houses?

I love how thorough Barbara Black has been in helping us get ready for this fabulous BOM. Thank you Barbara, Wendy and the entire TQS crew for all your hard work in bringing this wonderful quilt to us. I've pieced my first two houses and love this "new to me" folded freezer paper technique. I'm having so much fun : )

I am wondering if the pattern is available for the members- I live overseas and all the quilt kits that have either no background or the dot background are sold out.

Did you send your freezer paper sheets through a printer or did you trace pattern onto the freezer paper sheets

I can not find the patterns for bom 1. I got the fabric selection and introduction but nothing else come up. The color page won't download either. What am I not doing right or not finding it.

where are these speedy method templates?

I freezer paper piece a lot and I was taught to cut off the seam allowances from the paper, and trim the fabric 1/4" outside the paper. Leave the paper attached and when sewing the blocks together, sew along the edge of the paper. Clear as mud? This would require making 8 templates of each block, so it may not be for everyone.

I would encourage Barbara to check the freezer paper packaging more closely. The sticky nature is NOT wax, but is a plastic. I would not use my iron on anything I believed was wax. I think she will confuse her listeners.
