The spool block is fun and meaningful to sewists. BUT there are major problems with the design if you don't realize it. Alex will tell you the secret.

I haven’t been following this, but would like to. How many weeks back do I need to look for the beginning? Sure looks like fun.

I think the photos work very well.

Thanks for all you do for us, Alex!

I like the photos of your demonstration best. I could feel your discomfort with the sewing machine camera. Now I’m more relaxed along with you!
Thank you for all you’ve taught me about careful piecing and perfect points. I was just starting to sew a Storm at Sea together and using your technique has made it a much better quilt. And getting it (almost) perfect is great fun. I’m enjoying this immensely. I love using the glue. It helps me get the many points in this pattern to match. Using pins the points would slip apart about a sixteenth of an inch. Not any more!

Hi Alex you are very wise to stay home. I loved the shows today as always. I am in my 80's and very healthy, but my grand children and great grand children are staying away. It is so hard, and i am not crazy about i but I know it is for the best, THIS WON'T LAST FOREVER FRIGHT?

Definitely not a swastica. Look at the "flyfoot" as a very old example, pre-Nazi. I see a pinwheel that extends into a propeller.
The step by step pictures are great! When I do demos for my quilting circles or guild retreats, I always prepare the various examples on flannel boards.

Look into a wall mounted air conditioner for your sewing room. Also, have someone check the size of your ducts. My sewing room was always too hot and we found that the duct to that room was smaller than all the ducts throughout the rest of the house.

Swasika is reaching, I do see a pretty cross in the middle!
