Joan 45--I think you should put a white the inner border around the whole quilt to "hold" the scrappy pieces together. Then you could do some other piecing.

I'd turn the border triangles so the white is against the body of the quilt.

Re: night vision block, the white triangles and the pink triangles should be reversed.

This is a beautiful quilt. I love the way the white plays across it in your quest to make a modern quilt-- your use of the solid white in the pieced blocks and then the white peak-a-boo that comes from some of the prints you chose. I think your idea of border triangles with the more solid appearance of color and the pop of white will carry the modern white theme to the edges of the color field and bring the viewer's eye round the whole quilt. Real example of mastery of "scrap" and traditional block construction. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us how you did this. I am glad I tried the block construction along with the group because by doing that I gained an appreciation for your great skill and others too. Lovely. Stay well.

You haven't experienced hot until you have been in the deep south with over 90% humidity! Today the feels like temp is 115!

Turn them so the white is next to the body of the quilt..

Maybe half that size would
be perfect.

I'd only use 1/2 squares.
