Kerri - I am never precise with my backings for the exact issue you are describing. I feel your pain

Sue Gee - The bundle has about 3 yards of fat quarters and 3 yards of kaffe - it will be more than enough

Sandy - I do not use the BSR on my domestic but certainly will on my Q20.

Alex, you make my day. I love your presentations and your sense of humor. Thanks for all you are doing for us. I am learning a lot and look forward to each new segment. And a big thanks to John for always being there for you.

I learned this method of connecting the mitered ends of a binding as it’s being attached from Betty Cotton of Cotton therapy, perhaps 10 years ago. Since then I’ve use it all the time, and find that it works really well.

Hi Alex,
I added two 4 inch wide vertical strips to each side of a fabric backing that was initially too small in width for my quilt top. I thought I had the backing centered to the quilt top so that my straight line quilting would be equi-distant from the seam line of these two 4 inch fabric backing attachments. After all was said and done, the quilting was not equi-distant; thus, I had somehow not centered the backing fabric to the quilt top. Do you have any suggestions for centering such fabric backings to the quilt top?

Thank you,
Kerri

Do you use the BSR

For straight line method. When doing a vertical line that meets another horizontal line what is the best way to start/stop? Backstitch? My Viking has a "fix" to start then a tie off when I press "cut". Seens the backstitch works better. Thanks!

When doing a scrappy quilt, you mentioned always including some white in the fabrics you choose. How do you decide how much white to include?

I am making Afternoon Delight. I can’t seem to make a perfect 2.75 nine patch. I have solved this problem by making it a bit bigger and trimming. I have the same problem with HST’s. How can a sloppy Quilter become more perfect. Thanks
