Serena Brooks created Imperfect Match as her interpretation of a Double Wedding Ring quilt. Since her style is abstract, she knew it would be difficult for her to make the quilt in the traditional manner. Take a look at how she accomplished her goal.

Imperfect Match by Serena Brooks of the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild was featured in the Modern Traditionalism category, sponsored by Marcus Fabrics | Studio 37 Fabrics, at QuiltCon 2020.

Very pretty. I like the colors and design. I made a traditional version back in the 1990's and gave it to one of my daughters when she married. Still like it, and like this new version too.

Having had a 'mis-matched' marriage, this quilt speaks to me -- LOUDLY!

Modern quilting is growing on me slowly. I embrace this lesson.

Gorgeous...all around: design, color choice and craftsmanship. One of the best "Modern" quilts I have seen...wish I had made it!

Love the mid century retro feel of this quilt. It’s awesome!

Very nicely done. It did remind me of my last marriage though as nothing "matched" up with that husband.

This is beautiful. I normally don’t like modern quilts but this is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing. It has to be very difficult to achieve this pattern
