"Madonna" a Quilt by Brittany Bowen Burton - Best Machine Quilting, Framed

The Quilt Show caught up with Brittany Bowen Burton at the Texas Quilt Museum where her quilt Madonna was on display. Madonna won Best Machine Quilting, Framed at QuiltCon 2017. Here, Brittany tells us two stories about the quilt that you might not know. One of them is every quilter's nightmare. Has it ever happened to you?

Stunning and very creative depiction of an iconic image.
The colours, fabric choices and stitching, both hand and machine, is what gives your quilt the wow ! factor.
I just love everything about it.

Stunning quilt. However, I have a message about putting a large label on your quilt--I was accused of putting a "fake back" on one of my quilts that was judged in our local quilt guild show by a "certified" quilt judge. I had an extra block left over of a very complicated applique animal quilt and put it on the back and put my name and quilt info on it for the label. It wasn't hiding anything, just wanted to make use of the extra block. But, it seems the certified judges are suspicious of using large labels and believe you're trying to hide something that's wrong on the back. Anyway, just a warning to others----

Love the hand quilting/embroi dery additions to this quilt. And I too had a "spilled" story with a quilt of mine but it was coffee - no way to recover!!
