Brigitte Morgenroth set out to show the range of the log cabin quilt block. She had a special exhibit at Houston in 2015. Here is a modern interpretation of this traditional quilt block.

Love it. However, I consider it contemporary, not modern.

OK. I am confused. What makes this a modern quilt? Is it the use of solid fabrics? Im confused because I have seen many similar traditional quilts in this pattern . . . This is NOT a criticism (the quilt is lovely!), I just don't understand what makes a modern quilt modern.

I love this quilt. The color placement is glorious and just plain fun. Your quilt just proves how versatile this old pattern is. Thanks for sharing.

Yet another pattern for the log cabin block. Love the illusion of waviness.
