Alex talks with Amanda Murphy about her new book, The Ultimate Guide to Rulerwork Quilting.

In their talk, Amanda shares some machine quilting tips, including:

  1. How to hold a ruler. (It's different for domestic vs. longarm)
  2. Should you keep going or stop a lot?
  3. Why you want to turn off hover mode.
  4. There are 3 different ruler heights. What are they?

Alex enjoyed her talk with Amanda Murphy and so will you.

I just received my copy of the new book and devoured the first half. It’s well written and the photos are very detailed as well. I’d highly recommend this book. I’ve been trying to learn on a domestic for years and have struggled. Your detailed information is extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Great interview. I have several of your rulers and love them. In this interview Alex showed a picture of flying geese that went wonky on a domestic because they quilted the triangles instead of the outer border first. Question-What would you quilt first on that same flying geese on a longarm?
