Lorna Costantini and Others - "Like a Girl" a QuiltCon 2020 Quilt

Like a Girl is an improv quilt that was made to encourage a positive attitude in girls. The group that made this quilt wanted to make a statement, and we love the words of encouragement they chose to do just that.

This quilt is a tangible example of female empowerment. I raised our children by the precepts of "Put yourself in the other person's place" (the Golden Rule actually), & "Do the best you can with what you have". They're now adults & good people. My daughter is strong, educated, self-sufficient , compassionate, & not afraid to speak out when she sees injustice; traits that I believe other people should practice.

Oh, that I had heard these words at the age of 7, instead of 70. I am fond of "though she be little, she be fierce." I think that is attributed to Shakespeare.

Thanks so much for sharing our work. We worked really hard to design and create the quilt. It amazes me how we work effortlessly together. It's also a bonus when we get recognition for our message.
