Linda Anderson created Pensive Pause from an original photo taken while she was on a trip to India. Using machine quilting, appliqué, and painting, Linda has created an amazinging real, vibrantly dressed woman, taking a moment of respite from the crowd.
Pensive Pause won First Place, Painted Surface, sponsored by TheQuiltShow.com, at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2019.
As I watch tv show, movies we see quilts represented all the time.
Now it is time to bring quilts into major exhibitions.
Myrtle Beach SC use to have a tremendous quilt show years ago. I would love going just to see the quilts.
I was naive about quilts but had a quest for knowledge.
What I did not like was the vendors thinking that everyone was in the same place with experience.
I was intimidated.
Thank goodness for web sites, you tube, no judgement.
And that's just raw-edge appliqué (plus painting and quilting, of course), correct?
