We think this is the coolest quilt, even if it is called Fire in the Stone. Kimberly Lacy was inspired by a sandstone formation called The Wave. Based on one of her photographs, she used innumerable reds, oranges, and yellows to recreate the undulating lines of nature.

Fire in the Stone was on display as part of the Landscape quilts exhibit at Houston 2018.

What's this? Another addition for my "places to go" list and the best part it is from this terrific quilt! Amazing!

The angles in this quilt are breathtaking and there is so much depth and dimension. The quilt seems to have life to it.

A lot of tiny pieces to make the whole quilt glow. She was able to use her quilting to add to the flow and shapes of the layers of the stones. This is a beautiful quilt!

What a glorious mix of colors. Some fabrics appear to be silk or velvet. I love it.

Captured the beauty of nature. May look simple, is as complicated as nature itself.

Reminds me of the many US areas with Red Rock formations. Your colors are wonderful and vibrant. Your piecing gives great movement.

Amazing. Reminds me of the Rose Red City of Petra in Jordan
