We loved the 2nd Place quilt "Spat" and the 3rd Place Quilt "Abbey's Flower Garden".....and now for the 1st Place quilt in the category Small Wall Quilts- 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Contest. This quilt is not small at 83" x 83" but this makes it even more impressive as it was Hand Appliqued, Hand Pieced, and Hand Quilted. This quilt exhibits amazing artistry by Taeko. The incredible number of red triangles and the beautiful applique. BUT what surprised us was that the background that we thought was a solid nuetral...is not solid at all. Take a look at the close ups.
Did you miss 2nd & 3rd Place?

It, doesn't, however, qualify as a small quilt and should never have been judged in that category.
