We showed the marvelous quilt Keiko Morihiro made for her 30th anniversary (click here), and people asked if there were other examples of her work. This quilt, For the Wedding of My Beloved Daughter, won the Gammill Mastery Award at Houston 2017. Once again, it is handmade and took her 5 years to complete (well she had to eat!). Enjoy the close-ups and especially note the change of hues.

Have had the pleasure of seeing her quilts in person at the Houston Show. They are mesmerizing to see! I have such respect for the detail, accuracy and absolute "beauty" of her work. She is just that, a Master of Quilting.

This is so absolutely beautiful. I would never allow anyone to touch it no matter who they were. It would be displayed on my bed but never really used. The beauty of the work involved is beyond description. Five years of love and labor needs to be respected and rewarded with great appreciation. How very lovely. I could never spend that much time on a quilt although I live my children dearly. This quilt is more than a labor of love - so much more. So very beautiful.

That's an awful lot of perfectly made circles. Actually 5 yrs. seems pretty fast with all the intricate elements in this quilt. I also loved her quilt 'Bouquet'--simp ly fabulous.

There are some very gifted people around, this is one that exells. This should be in a museum. Just like the paintings in the Louvre.

WOW! What a lot of detail and so much hand work. I can see why it took so long to make. What a wonderful wedding gift.

Whenever I go to a museum, I pick one item that is my “take home” dream item. When I saw this quilt in Paducah, I knew that was IT.
