Helen is a wonderful teacher, and Kate, now you don't have to get a long arm. If you look around you I'm sure you'll find the foot available for your domestic machine. Try Helen's website maybe, I don't know who to recommend in America, but check out the people who make ruler feet for domestic machines.

What a fantastic tutorial for this method! I understood it completely and now need to go try this out so as to remember it. And the quilt that Helen made was unbelievable! Thanks for showing us how this is done.
