We always love to see Helen Godden's latest quilt. She seems to get at least one, and sometimes several quilts, into Houston each year. When we saw the sign say "Helen Godden," we knew we would love it. But then we stopped and looked closer...What is it made of....YARN??

Take a look at Lindsey and check out the close ups.

I agree that this is great art, but I would not consider it a quilt!

This is a very stunning piece. The hat brim is so realistic. BUT is it really a quilt? Three layers stitched together?

I am encouraged to see this quilt respected by the judges and it gives me the courage to try this since I love to knit and have lots of yarn.

Beautiful quilt! The technique reminds me of Huichol yarn paintings, though they are yarn put down on a surface, into beeswax, I believe. The technique has the same look.

That's pretty amazing all right! Very aptly described as being after Van Gough too! Thanks for sharing with us all.
