Born in Hawaii and raised in California, Rhonda Montgomery's 'happy place' is on the beach with her children, so she made a quilt of her children at the beach. She found it appropriate to share her story on the appliquéd surfboard and used "storm at sea" to create her ocean. The hibiscus border is her tribute to Hawaiian quilts.

A beautiful quilt, it’s wonderful to see how appliqué and piecing are blended to create cherished memories. The poses of the children are delightful and the details bring out their personalilies! vg545

I've never been much for 'people' quilts, but I like what was done here. And the quilting was a nice fit.
