"Summer Memory" a Quilt by Yoshiyuki Ishizaki

This quilt won an Honorable Mention at Houston 2017 in the Innovative Piecing category. It is also very Innovative in Design. Yoshiyuki created it in memory of a summer bike ride. You can see the mountains and feel the movement. Then get up close and see the piecing. The quilt measures 79" x 64" and uses machine piecing and was quilted on a stationary machine. We took these pictures at AQS Spring Paducah 2018.

A stationary machine is a machine you move your work under the needle. Not a machine you move the needle like a long arm.

what does 'quilted on a stationary machine' mean?
Beautiful quilt and I do like the use of prints that blend nicely because of the variation in colors in the prints.

I like the fact that she used fabrics with prints, rather than solids in this innovative piece of quilting.
