Kyla Farquharson began her quilt, Family, at the age of 8, finishing it at age 10. When it was presented at the QuiltCon 2018 awards ceremony, a collective "oooh" went up around the room. Kyla writes, "I really hope that you will like my quilt since it took a lot of hard work and patience to make it." Kyla, I think we all LOVE your quilt.

Kyla's quilt won 2nd Place in the Youth Category.

I wish they had listed the maker's age in the Youth Category. I think they should b/c it puts the quilts in perspective. I was there this year (and every year for QuiltCon) and I think the youth quilts were great!

I love this quilt. When I came upon it at QuiltCon it just stopped me in my tracks. Each of the cats has such personality and character. Kyla is not only a quilter but an artist.

great quilt! love how you kept it simple but with oh so much character. each cat has and shows his/her own personality. can't wait to see what else you'll make in the future.

That is so cute and isn't she a fast learner. Good work, Kyla and I think it is wonderful that you are learning to sew and quilt at your age.
