Betty Busby played at "Arts and Crabs" with her two little sisters as a small child, and continued her obsession through graduation from the Rhode Island School of Design, with a ceramics major. With this work of textile art, she combined the love for her sisters, quilting, and ceramics.

The bases are blue rubber to stand on and improve balance. They have been painted white.

The base looks like it's her ceramic work with the quilted pieces attached and hanging behind. Very innovative!

Not exactly sure what the base material is but I don't think it's milk glass. If you look closely it appears that the artist has possibly spray painted over the original materiel because you can se a bluish green showing through.

As for the piece it's self......Not sure if the cylinders alone are the "quilt" or the one hanging behind them are part of it. I'm guessing by the title the cylinders only are the piece. Interesting and innovative to be sure.

I think the base of them is a collectable called 'milk glass'. Used to be very collectable years ago but don't think it is much now. I have some pieces and like it.

This quilt REALLY reminds me of the Chihuly glass pieces, which I love. Unique and beautiful!
