What a great prize. I assume the Sashiko type quilting on the quilts is a running stitch. What needle do you use for this quilting? I am using a DMC floss for some quilting and embellishments and have a hard time finding a needle that will work for that thick thread and will go through the quilt layers smoothly- and not break or bend. I am using a chenille. Somewhere I see a Crewel needle recommended.

I love the oriental print fabrics, but son't know how to coordinate them to look well together.
