We saw Kyouko Tashiro's quilt, In Early Summer, 79" x 79", at Paducah Spring 2017 in the Hand Quilted Quilts Category. It is beautiful in all aspects, but we were especially drawn to how the center medallion was created by the appliqué and how the circle of flowers and wavy quilting added movement to a square quilt. Do you get the same feeling?

Such a gorgeous quilt. I am envious of Kyouko's talent and creativity. Lots to learn from this one!

So delighted to see that there are quilters out there who STILL do hand-quilting. This quilt is marvelous!!

Were the applique pieces added on after the grids were quilted?

Amazing quilt! Have a question though, were all the applique flowers, leaves, etc. sewn on after the grid quilting was finished?

I don't like quilts that are busy or move.

The flowers almost look like they're swaying in a gentle breeze. Beautiful design and awesome quilting.
