Vimeo support got back to us and showed us how to have you fix the iPad problem. Go to your "Gear" for Settings.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning > Closed Captions + SDH
  2. Set it to OFF

This did not work for one of our viewers. However, she found that this worked for her:

Hi John,
Well, I kept changing settings in the Accessibility area and I found something that worked. If I turn off Auto Brightness: Settings/General/Accessibility/Display Accommodations, the video plays perfectly. The iPad Pro 10.5 and probably the new iPhones have something called True Tone displays. The Auto Brightness is ON by default and the screen adjusts automatically to the ambient light around the user. It is a very cool feature. I hope Vimeo will come up with a fix but until then I am very happy to be able to watch your shows on my iPad again!

Do either of these fixes work for you? Which one?

Hello, MY daughter found a way that worked for us..go to safari , onto the quilt show then add to homescreen on the options button that had options like add to reading book, bookmark etc.
hope this helps. Cheers

I have temporarily shut off the closed captioning to shows 2107 and 2106. Could a few of you test and see if this fixes the problem?

Well, I have an iPhone 7 and also was not able to see video after I installed IOS 11. I tried the auto-brightness suggestion first and that did not work. I tried the first suggestion about closed captioning + SDH (set to off)and that did work. HOWEVER, I am hearing impaired and use closed captions so I am hoping this change it is not going to affect my ability to watch things that have captions. I would appreciate a fix so that I can turn that option back on my iphone

If we are all talking the about the same problem.... ie, the video just fails to begin, and there is just a plain black screen. I have updated to ios11. All other suggested settings were already in place. Would appreciate any other suggestions. Sigh.

Oh bummer.... neither of these work. I have an iPad Pro, and just updated to the latest software. Any other suggestions?
