Works by artists Pat Durbin and Jane Sassaman were recently on exhibit at the National Quilt Museum.
The Museum writes,
Jane Sassaman is an artist, educator, author, and fabric designer. Her innovative quilts have been shown in many national and international exhibits. Jane's love for historic decorative arts can be seen in all facets of her work, but it is especially evident in the exuberant fabric she is currently designing for FreeSpirit. Her latest book, Patchwork Sassaman Style, beautifully illustrates her fabric "in action."
Pat Durbin creates quilts that resemble paintings using fabric and thread. She often uses her husband's landscape photography to inspire her scenes. Her quilt "Forest Walk" won 3rd place in the Paducah AQS show 2010, also a 3rd place in International Quilt Festival in Houston 2010. It is now in the Museum's collection.
