WE WANT YOU!

Join over 460 quilters in the International Miniature Quilt Exchange.

What Was The Inspiration for IMQE?

St. Louis quilter Jean Amaduri had an idea. She was the Quilt Show Chairperson for the 2001 Thimble and Thread Quilt Show. On the cusp of the new millennium, she wanted a spectacular theme: quilts from around the world. Her challenge was, "How to get quilts from around the world to her show?" The solution? Go Small!

Jean, a world traveler, reached out to her quilting contacts across the globe. The results were fantastic. Forty-three guild members participated and in the end, over three hundred miniature quilts were exchanged with quilters from 22 countries. The special exhibit was a huge success.

I was connected to my partner from Canada. We exchanged emails right away and we exchanged some photos of our quilts to get a flavor for what we might create. I am so impressed with my partner as she teaches and is so much more advanced than I am. We are excited to get started. I wonder if anyone else has started their quilts yet.
