I'm in New Hampshire! I can't believe it's been a week since I left Colorado. Last Friday I spent the day at Hartman Farms in Burlington, Colorado, with good friends Susan and Jodey. They had been graciously storing the 14 cartons of thread my pal Ricky Tims had been gathering in the "Threads for David" campaign, following the fire that devastated my home and studio in February. (And, yes, you read that correctly -- FOURTEEN cartons!) I am overwhelmed with gratitude - spools of thread were sent from around the globe.
Susan shared the emotional day with me reading all of the cards and kind words sent by my extended quilting family. From Alaska to Hawaii, West Coast to East, the packages kept coming. Truly, I don't think I'll ever run out of cotton thread. Ever. The picture I've posted was taken early in the day, when I thought the thread stash would all fit on the dining room table. (For those who know me, you know I had to try to organize them by brand, weight, color, spool size, etc. -Hah!)
Last Friday was the first opportunity I had to see the thread. I have spent months on the road and living in temporary housing. To all of the kind quilters who sent thread, gift cards, gift certificates, checks, cash, etc... I am grateful beyond words. I can only beg for your forgiveness and understanding for the delay in acknowledging your thoughtfulness and generosity. Thank you. Merry Christmas, indeed!

So glad you and your threads are settled in NH. I hope a new Bernina shows up on your doorstep, too! Looking at the photo it looks like you could arrange them into a really cool rainbow. Transparent boxes on shelves with the colors showing through. Whee. Organizing. My idea of a good time. Joan Curtis
Besides being a wonderful teacher and upstanding human being, you have given so much to the quilting community that you deserve all of the good things that come your way.
So happy to see others lend a hand to replenish your stash. Please let us know if you could use anything else. You have given to so many people, now you need to allow others to give back to you. We love and admire you; O Henry had it right.
