What are you going to do on the back of your Rajah Revisited quilt? Brenda Dean (she had the pattern prior to release to TQS.) chose to make her back as interesting as her front. We thought it was amazing and you could use all of the historical tidbits we have been providing to do something similar.

I completed my quilt top some weeks ago and then set about making the backing for the quilt. I felt that the story had to be told and should form part of my quilt. I printed the fourteen panels of text that Lessa [our TQS BOM 2016 designer] forwarded to you onto printable fabric then tea dyed it to give it an antique look. The panels are bordered with some Jinny Beyer border fabric and I have used antique looking tone on tone for the rest of the background.

I created the wording on the panels in my own style using information from many sources. My main source was the book 'Patchwork Prisoners' by Trudy Cowley & Dianne Snowden from Research Tasmania along with details of female prisoners listed on their website. I contacted them before making the quilt back and they gave me permission to use the information.
