The plastic pipe seems like a waste of the space.
Shelves for folded fabric would be much better. More fabric for available space.

Quoting Linda:
I agree with CHI3165, what was the setup in the photo to lead to the link? It kind of looked like a storage system from IKEA with a tabletop on the top.

Here is the link I found for the "hack" https://www.ikeahackers.net/2012/12/expedit-sewingcraftingcutting-table.html

I love some of the ideas that would work in my small spare bedroom. Love clothespins for embroidery floss. If careful you could put dmc number on it. Bobbin storage, labeling cords, I already use a dresser for some fabric and odds and ends notions.

The clothespin idea is nice but I would have to write a DMC number somewhere so I would know which color it is besides red, green, blue and yellow. LOL

Loved the idea of repurposing a TV tray for an ironing surface which then can be moved around where needed with less up and down especially while paper piecing.

I roll my fabrics and arrange by color, separated by cardboards in an ordinary bookshelf.
This way Imcan see the ends of the fabrics, they are easy to remove without making a mess, and little rolls can easily be seen.Deciding on fabric is easier as there are only small amounts of color. Got this idea from a quilt book

I've learned the hard way that when you decide on a certain plastic container/bin, buy them all at once! I've had a hard time finding the same design when going back to the store (a few months later) when I decided to expand my storage space. When they're all alike, it looks so much nicer.

I was thinking that the shoe bag organizer would be a nice way to organize strips while making a pineapple or log cabin quilt.

I love all these ideas for storage, especially the clothes pins for embroidery thread. I can"t wait to get some clothes pins.
