Saw Miss Jo do this technique long ago and have used it on small projects that aren't going to be handled/washed much. My concern is with wearing. Doesn't clipping like this compromise the strength of the seam? What's to keep from having a hole form where the fabric has been clipped if it's done on a quilt that's washed often?

Wow, I've been doing this for years! I've also had some quilters give me some really weird looks when I've shown them my trick. Glad to see its finally caught on.

Wow, I love it. When quilting the quilt machine does not like those bumps. Yes, this is wonderful!!!
