Is this a new type of binding? Or is it really "old-school?" The gals at Vintage Door discovered similar binding made by Wrights in a box of old sewing goods. When they discovered it was no longer manufactured, they set about having it created by a factory in Europe. Click here to read more of the story.

Here's what it looks like when applied to a quilt. Isn't it adorable?

What I am puzzled about is how this would be applied to the edge of a quilt. I love the look of it.

How is it applied? Is there any video or photos step by step? It's beautiful!

This binding is adorable, and I do remember seeing it years ago. My first thought, however is it does not seem very durable. The "lace" looks fragile and I doubt it would hold up on a quilt. I would hate to put all those hours into creating a lovely quilt, only to have the thread on the lace wear out or break. What do you all think?

Oh wow. I remember this stuff from when I was a kid. Now I really feel old. :-* I am betting that if enough of us see this stuff, we just might create a new market for it again. That is indeed a great binding for a project.

I have used silk pillow cording to bind a quilt. It gives the quilt a more dressy look.
