I have been asked many times why I write a quilt blog:  #1 is I love to write, #2 is I love quilting, #3 I want to support the quilting world in what ever way I can because I get so much joy from it. I have not been to a place where it is more important for the every day quilter to support their quilt shop!!! In Moab, Utah, It's Sew Moab, is the only shop for hours!!! And what a shop!!! Deb has stocked it with something for everyone, but there is definitely a Southwest theme.

From the Kokopelli out front to the wonderful quilts inside, everything depicts the nature that is all round Moab. Deb, who travels coast to coast with a home base in Maryland, has owned the shop in Moab for over a year. Thank goodness she showed up, because the previous owner was about to close the door!  I know everyone orders fabric on the internet, but there is nothing like seeing and feeling the actual bolts :) She brings her long history of sewing and artistic view to the quilting world in Moab!  Her bubbly personality and genuine encouragement has helped a few new quilters join the ranks.

I love this reversible skirt that she made out of a border print!!! If you see something in the slide show that you must have contact Deb at www.itssewmoab.com.  We have made our way to St. George where I have enjoyed a quilt immersion, lol. I visited 3 quilt shops and hung out with Joyce Weeks, designer of www.geoffsmompatterns.com. You will see my visit to her home on next week's Anna & G On The Road blog and my conversation with her on the Quilt Roadies YouTube Show.  Also check out www.wooliemammoth.blogspot.com for some of my quilt shop hopping!!

In the meantime I have 2...yes 2 slide shows for you!!!  First, of course, is the It's Sew Moab shop...

The Delicate Stitchers of Moab had a guild challenge on display at the Moab Museum. Lucky for me I was able to view and share it all with you. Also, I attended a guild meeting!!!  And, as with all guilds there was a Show 'n Tell!!!

Enjoy and be inspired...until next week.

I was in this shop about two months ago and it is a fantastic shop! The ladies were extremely helpful and the fabric selection is wonderful. Any sewer or quilter visiting Moab should plan on a visit to this very nice store.

I was in It's Sew Moab a few weeks ago with my partner and had a great chat with Deb. Lots of quilt and local politics talk. The Kokopelli sewing machine/seat was too inventive so I had to take pictures of it with me sitting next to "kook". Arches was our destination for three days and it was good to finally find a quilt shop.

Thanks for the photos but the writing doesn't sync with the photos. Or is it just me?
