Which kind of quilter are you? Vote below.

You're in the quilting zone all day long; what do you listen to? Is it time for TV? Do you pop in an audio book? Are your iTunes cranked? Do you open the window and listen to the sound of crickets and the trilling of a lark? OR, is it quiet time, no sounds but the gentle hum of your machine or the quilt thread tiptoeing through the layers?

Spa type, meditative music for designing, creating. Songs to sing to when I am piecing. Loud Current pop when free motion quilting.

You have left out a larger portion of the quilting world, we are Hearing Impaired, your choices do not count in our world. So I voted for quiet. When you rely on closed captioning to understand what is being said, the choices of sound are not choices at all. Please remember that. Many refuse to realize how much of the world is denied to us.

I almost always have music on when I'm working because the fluorescent lights buzz, and it drives me nuts. I do prefer instrumental because it invigorates the mental process for me. And I learned to machine quilt cranking up the jazzy noise! Put some life in the music and it comes out the needle!

PS. I haven't watched tv in over 20 yrs.

Watch TV when I’m hand quilting or sewing. Listen to music or audiobook while I’m doing machine work or cutting fabric.

The sweet sound of silence lets me be most creative, but listening to birds would be a lovely option, too. :-)

Once again, this is either/or. I love old movies while I quilt, I love listening to audiobooks and occasionally I want to concentrate on what I'm doing. More often than not, though, I will listen to music. The type of music changes all the time though, so I can't pick just one genre. So I picked music, but it would have been more accurate to have another choice for those of us who like to mix it up.

I voted for books, but mostly I listen to podcasts while I sew.

On the first screen we had the option of opening a window to listen to the birds, which is really what I prefer, weather allowing.

Sad but must say, I do have the TV on when sewing, with all that has occurred in 2020, if there's a new flash/bulletin, I liketo be aware

i LISTEN TO CLASSICAL MUSIC SOMETIMES WHEN I QUILT . But most often I turn on the Progressive channel on Sirius XM radio and listen to Thom Hartmann.
