Whenever I catch a moment or two to shut out the world to quilt - SOMETHING happens - (thank you Alden Lane for saving the day!) Anyone got a stump grinder?
I left market a day early to enjoy an event hosted by the historical society in Livermore. About 10 homes were open for a walking tour - the homes are all documented from the 1800's and have rich Livermore history. My parents live in a little victorian cottage (which they restored many years ago) and their yard was chosen for the wine tasting, lemonade, water and treat station. After my friend and I visted the homes on the tour we hung out there for several hours catching up with Livermorons (yes, that is what we call ourselves) - it was like a mini city reunion. Mom and Dad have spent months cleaning up their yard and topped it off with quilts. Quilts dress up any event.
Although not quilt related - my passion for the light bulb intensifies (as my quest for interesting fabric) grows as the search for the party continues.
This great story came to us from Quilt Show member, SDQUILTER, who has heard many times over the years, "Sometimes you just gotta break the rules." She sent this link for us to share and says it reminds her of someone here at The Quilt Show who isn't big on rules, either. Anybody up for a game of guess who?

Lake George, New York is a family resort area. It has lots to do for family vacations. There are several miniature golf centers, water slides, parks and of course the beach. You can stay in hotels or in cabins like the log cabins shown above. The town is mainly active for about 8 weeks a year. It starts when school gets out in late June and goes until Labor Day which is early in September and just before school starts again. Many of the businesses close down except for these months. However, with gas prices now at $4/gallon, I think the BP station may have shut down a long time ago.
The Seminar starts Thursday and 650 quilters will descend on Glens Falls the town next to Lake George. It will be a great time of learning and laughing.
Without your sewing machine would you have come to no good end?

Remember the picture of the BOM is just a guide. Use your imagination.
Thank you Margo.
Here again is the Quilt Show name badge logo. You can print it, embroider it, paint it, or applique it. Just remember to put your screen name in the bottom blue area. This is a great way to find other TQS members while attending shows. What fun it will be when someone sees your badge and says, "Hey, It's a New Day!"
To print the badge, click here. Then, simply print the page and cut it out with scissors.
Just when you think you have seen it all -
