We have a new website feature for you soon, but I'm having trouble with the computer. Why are there 35 windows open? Maybe someone out there is a computer expert who can help identify the problem so I can get back to work. --Capt'n John

Groundhog day is celebrated February 2 in Canada and the US. It all centers around a little rodent named Punxsatawney Phil who is watched the world over when he comes out of his burrow. If he fails to see his shadow, he'll wander away from home and winter will be over. If he sees his shadow, he'll head back down the hole and settle in for another six weeks of winter. Phil has become quite a celebrity over the years. Enjoy Anna Nalick's "Shine." We promise you won't have to watch the video over and over.
Check out this gift bag and card. One of the gals brought her gift in this fancy dancy bag and I almost had a heart attack thinking that one of the younger guests was a quilter - No, but her mom is! How super cool is this? When ever it is time for a baby gift she "shops" at her Mom's for snugglie stuff to present to the new mom and newborn. Next time you need to wrap a gift? Go green, grab a glue gun and make yo - yos!
Looks like these TQS folks already got the word....stay tuned...........
When you walk in to your local quiltshop (or not so local) where does your inspiration come from.....or what is the best part? We wanna know........
If you live on the West Coast and can't get to Washington D.C. to see the Behind the Scenes Lace/Quilt Tours mentioned in the January 19th Newsletter, maybe you can visit the Lace Museum and Guild in Sunnyvale, California.
Their mission is to preserve lace and the art of lace making, to exhibit lace and its historical use, and to offer instruction in all facets of lace making. The museum is a non-profit organization and is one of two museums in the United States devoted solely to its art. The Lace Museum provides on-going lace making classes and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
A new exhibit, "Night and Day - Lacey Lingerie and Sleepwear from 1860-1950" will be installed January 23, 2010. The exhibit will feature petticoats, hoops, corsets, corset covers, slips, night wear, bed jackets, teddies and more.
Admission is free.
For more information, please visit, www.thelacemuseum.org.
Is your commute boring? Well, not in Belgium. Take a look at what happened at the Central Station of Antwerp. Two hundred dancers put this together with just two rehearsals of "Do Re Mi." They were promoting the search for someone to play the lead role in the musical "The Sound of Music" for Belgian television. If you are looking for quilt inspiration, take a look at the floor of the station.
