There's a new exhibit at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles--
Three Bay Area Modern Quilt Guilds--East Bay Modern, Bay Area Modern and South Bay Area Modern--present a juried exhibition of quilts made by guild members who were inspired by Amish quilt makers.
Juror and San Francisco artist Joe Cunningham has chosen almost forty quilts displayed in two exhibitions that best represent a 21st century interpretation of late 19th and early 20th century Amish quilt-making traditions. The Modern Muse exhibitions are part of the museum’s FiberSpace program, an exhibition platform where the museum provides gallery space, while community members provide the art work and resources to mount a professional exhibition.
