The Quilters are going to take over Manhattan again to support The Alliance for American Quilts. The event will take place at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
Mark Lipinski will lead off the event with his talk "Mark Lipinski Explains It All to You."
The day will include a live Quilter's S.O.S. - Save Our Stories oral history interview with Denyse Schmidt.
Selected quilts from the the Alliance's "Home is Where the Quilt is" contest will be displayed at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the rest will be exhibited at The City Quilter.
Door prizes, goody bags and a special silent auction of products donated by their generous sponsors will round out the event.
There will also be a Quilters Take Manhattan: After Dark in the loft home of Victoria Findlay Wolfe, co-founder of the New York CIty Metro Area Modern Quilt Guild, in the NYC Garment District. This cocktail fundraiser will feature and celebrate the full spectrum of quilting and quilters today. Tickets are limited and going fast.
