The deadline for the Alliance for American Quilts Contest is fast approaching. The deadline is March 7, 2011. Their theme is“Alliances: People, Patterns, Passion,” a broad theme that celebrates cooperative relationships that work towards a common goal. There are great prizes to win including a Handi Quilter machine quilting system and gift baskets from AccuQuilt, C&T Publishing, and our very own The Quilt Show.com.
Entries must be 16" x 16" and comply with the theme of the contest. They are considered a donation to the Alliance. They must have a sleeve and a label. This year, along with a written artist's statement, they are doing an audio recording as well. For more information, click here.
And, as a special enticement; the quilts will be exhibited at national venues including a debut exhibition at the American Quilter's Society's 27th annual show in Paducah, Kentucky, April 27-30, 2011.
